TRPA Awards for Transportation Projects

Kings Beach Western Approach was awarded $1.5M for a roundabout and pedestrian improvements at the intersection of Hwy 267 and 28.

North Tahoe Shared-Use Trail was awarded $1,826,802 for a bike path connecting Dollar Hill and North Tahoe Regional Park. Next step is to finalize the design and likely construct (no sooner than) Fall 2024 for Segment 1 connecting North Tahoe Regional Park to Carnelian Ave.

Construction of new tennis and pickleball courts at the North Tahoe Regional Park in Tahoe Vista will begin soon after a critical funding component was approved.

Placer County Board of Supervisors

Recently Placer County Board of Supervisors have taken the following actions:

Placer County commission’s implementation plan for North Lake Tahoe highway transit improvements to address traffic concerns and enhance transit along state routes 89 and 267 with short-term and long-term improvements. See link for more info:

Signed new agreement with Nichols Consulting Engineers, CHTD. (NCE), for professional engineering, right of way, and related services for the Flick Point II Water Quality and Ecosystem Improvement Project in conjunction with the Tahoe Bicycle and Pedestrian Master Plan. NCE will conduct a feasibility field walk with the County and technical leads for design, environmental, structural, and geotechnical. The intent of this field walk is to visit the key locations in the project area including the residential water quality improvement area, the proposed trail alignment, and the proposed Watson Creek crossing location. During the feasibility field walk, the group will spend time making field observations of the proposed alignment and Watson Creek crossing, identifying, and discussing alternative alignments and crossing locations, and exploring the creek crossing options and approach to the SEZ restoration.
