We’ll be moving forward with pile burning at Carnelian Woods next week, Monday through Thursday (January 20-23). Some smoldering and smoke may linger into the weekend. We have a good amount of snow on the ground. Winds are fairly minimal but should be enough to help with mixing and keep smoke from creating a nuisance. We are grateful for the assistance of the Tahoe-based Zephyr Crew out of Stateline, NV and the experience they have with fuels management. The Cal-Fire crews remain unavailable due to the need in Southern California. There are about 3.5 acres containing 115 snowy piles that remain to complete this project.
I’ll be dropping off some new signs this evening to Carnelian Woods Office, and with Agate Bay Firewise.
Please let me know of any question or concerns
